vision / mission  statement for MABA The Military Avenue Business Association vision is to enhance our business climate.
The organization will work with both the public and private sectors to encourage growth and economic development through commercial and residential development, civic and social activities and improvements for the general welfare of Military Avenue.

The core principles of the association ....

  1. Communication

between members regarding events that impact Military Ave area.
outreach to government and others that impact our area.
Goal….create a sense of community in our business district

  1. Business Development

recruitment of businesses
retention of businesses and customers
marketing and promotions to make the area exciting

  1. Expansion of the TIF district

Southern border to Lombardi Ave.
Northern border to 143 with an access

  1. Security

create a more user friendly district where employees and
customers are safe and comfortable.

Bryan Boettcher of Quick Signs agreed to design and print window/door decals for members usage.

A checking account has been opened at M&I Bank ...Judy Decker following up with the details. Please send you association dues to the P.O. box 11996 checks payable to Military Ave. Business Association or MABA

Several membership dues options were reviewed the following was agreed for the calendar year '08. [a follow-up review will be considered in '09.]
property owners with assessed value up to $400,000 ......... = $250 per / yr.
property owners with assessed value over $400,000 ........ = $500 per / yr.
larger parcel owners may submit additional higher amounts as feasible.
The goal is to have $20,000+ as a base operating fund with higher budget anticipated in future years when the street rebuild project and other marketing
will require bigger financial needs. For example we have....

Paul Kosmoski offered $1,000 for the kickoff
Judy Decker offered $1,000 for the kickoff
Craig Beyl offered $1,000 for the kickoff

A proposal to consider for  tenants and businesses that are not property owners???
$50 per yr. for smaller entities
$100 per yr. for larger entities

A kick-off membership campaign will be designed and sent out in the next few weeks.  Our goal is to enlist the majority of the owners and also the tenants to join the Military Ave Business Association.  We need to have many voices in concert working together to make ourselves heard. By teaming up we can
make a bigger impact and advance the entire district.

Design for our internet site and newsletter Barb Fleisner presented template designs that tie-in the MABA logo.
We are pursuing the creation of an effective web site and are considering options for managing the site. If you are aware of anyone that conducts web management in the Military Ave. District that is interested in assisting us on a reduced rate basis [for public relations] please advise Mike Cuene.  In the meantime we will go with IPS Solutions as our host and site management with Jon Henjem for creative design.

E-mail will be the major means of communication with our members. It will be imperative to gather the e-mail addresses of all property owners and businesses.  These addresses will not be shared with others and used only for keeping members updated with "happenings on Military."  Please forward any addresses you may have at your disposal on your tenants, fellow property owners etc. to Barb at bfleisner@titletown.org We are contemplating creating a network of block captains to gather news and information that can be shared with the overall Military Ave. members via the e-mail monthly newsletter.

To facilitate the completion of the organizational phase of the association an ad hoc
nominating committee has been formed.  A slate of officers and committee chairs will be presented at the Feb. meeting for approval. Committee members include Paul Kosmoski, Henry Czachor, Judy Decker, Craig Beyl.

The next association meeting Thurs. Feb. 21st  noon - 1:30
at Bay Family Restaurant

we will plan to have the meetings the 3rd Thurs of every month
