Meeting Minutes from March 20, 2008

Meeting called to order by President Mike Cuene.

Minutes approved with no changes from 2/21/08

Committee Reports:
Government:  County will not be involved with Military Avenue renovation nor highway renovation.  Discussion on possible name change of Military Avenue to Brett Favre Boulevard or similar name was originally met with concern from Mayor Schmitt but then after listening to reasoning behind the request he believed that it may be appropriate and timely.  The Mayor was approached prior to Brett Favre announcing his retirement.  The City would like this for a major street, if any.  Derrick Lord has already been approached by the Mayor on the idea.  Brown County will be approached to make sure there are no similarities as they must also give their stamp of approval.  Agreement that if this is done it must be done quickly.  Suggestion also to have a dedication of a monument on Military for honoring our veterans and the history behind the original name.  Chuck Karl, project engineer, has been selected for the Highway renovation for the Wis DOT. A project engineer has also been selected for the city improvements and bids will go out June 2010 and entire project to be completed by early 2011.

Membership:  Many prospective members have been contacted either in person or by mail for membership.  Need additional committee members to help with this large undertaking. Application form will be modified to clarify membership dues for a business tenant NOT property owner of a parcel is $100 membership fee.

Newsletter & Marketing :  Needs committee chair and members.  No one has volunteered for this committee yet and it is so important.

Next Meeting:  Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11:00AM at Broadway Automotive on Military in the Jeep showroom. This is an open invitation to prospective members to see what we are about!  Everyone welcome. Agenda will be Mayor Schmitt, Engineers from City of Green Bay etc which are being confirmed.  Notice will be in GB Press Gazette.

Vice President position is still open and we would like a volunteer to help run meeting in the event President is unavailable.  Please support your organization!

Respectfully submitted,
Judy Decker
