II. Discussion: Andrea and Judy are reviewing the list of members and will contact non-members asking them to join MABA. It was suggested that we send another mailer out such as the orange post cards that were sent out a few months ago requesting non-members to join making this their last chance. The current contact list includes about 120 businesses. Much work needs to be done as it is estimated that there are 300 to 400 businesses in the MABA corridor
Judy Decker presented the Treasurers Report showing a balance of $15, 588.23 as of 8/19/08
Mike Le Febvre with Graef Anhalt Schloemer (GAS) UPDATE:
Construction will begin in Spring of 2010. Intersections, sidewalks and turn lanes will be a concern along with the mention of roundabouts. The city will be holding a public information meeting sometime this fall and it is imperative that all MABA members attend this meeting. The meetings are likely to be held in October or November 2008. The attendees agreed that Gene Colwitz, Shopko will contact Carl Weber and Ed Wiesner, the Public Works Director regarding roundabouts. Mike stated this will enhance the look of the corridor. Roundabouts are not currently in the plan Improvements have been extended to Langlade where the new concrete begins.
Mike reported that his firm is at about 20% of design headed toward an anticipated bid time frame of January-February 2010. Mike indicated it will be critical to hold May- June 2009 meetings with all of the property owners to keep them appriised of the construction plans and business continuity. Mike also volunteered to provide an Engineers Update as a regular feature for the MABA newsletter
A draft copy of a position description developed by the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce was distributed for review and comment
III. Topics at October 16th Meeting Ray Kopish, GBACC, will provide us with an update on the reconstruction on Velp Avenue. i.e. the Howard portion

We are at other options to fill the MABA Program Coordinator position. We may want to hire a consultant or Mike suggested having Gene Hackbarth an associate of Graef Anhalt Schloemer assist with this. Hackbarth was the former Director of the De Pere Main Street Program, and the De Pere Business. Association.
Need to review the upcoming meeting schedule to minimize Holiday calendar conflicts.
